FPAI's Seminar on 'Family Planning'


A Seminar on 'Family Planning', with special focus on  'Abortion is Health Care' was held on 22 Oct. afternoon at Calcutta Press Club. It was organized by FPAI (Family Planning Association of India). Supratip Mazumder, Kolkata Branch Head, FPAI was the Principal Speaker. 
Asish Basak, Editor-Director, 'Hello Kolkata' stressed on relevance of proper dissemination of knowledge on Sexuality and also urge people to 'Really MEAN NO' when you say 'NO'.


Dr. Sujata Chatterjee, Annie Jain, Priyanka and Dr. Arun Kumar were the other panelists who spoke on such important aspects like 'Safe Sex', 'Need of Contraception' and 'Coping with Adolescence'.
FAMILY PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF INDIA is recognized as India's leading and largest sexual and reproductive health social impact organisation working for almost seven decades with all communities, including the poor and marginalized, in both rural and urban areas. FPAI provides wide range of services on family planning including knowledge on SRHR. FPAI, Kolkata Branch have three satellite units in different areas and one hospital. FPAI Kolkata Branch has organized motivational programs for link workers, mother’s meeting, RMP meeting, promoter’s meeting, liaison with Govt. officials, health supervisors etc. It organizes day to day house hold visit to create awareness on family planning among community people. FPAI Kolkata Branch conduct comprehensive sexual education among school students in association with different schools. FPAI has great network with other NGOs and CBO. 

  "FPAI Kolkata Branch has organized ‘Abortion is Health Care’ to create awareness about safe abortion. Every women has right to take decision on this issues. “My Abortion My Health, My Right to Decide,", remarked Supratip Mazumder, Kolkata Branch Head, FPAI.
